The freedom of information and the freedom to read are major tenets of librarianship. Censorship is antithesis to these ideas, and yet it is also important to recognize that not all information can be made available, such as personal health information, confidential financial information, and so on. Determining the appropriate balance between these responsibilities cannot be understated and this issue briefing critically evaluates and reflects upon these ideas.

Through analyzing several key aspects of this book, I was able to create this report that explains how the book is useful to those researching in this field and the unique value that it provides.

Security and privacy practices within special collections libraries are important elements to the maintenance and care of these collections.
